Payday 2 jetzt kostenlos auf Steam, solange Vorrat reicht.

Wer möchte, kann sich momentan Payday 2 kostenlos bei Steam herunterladen. Hierbei handelt es sich nicht um eine Trial-Version oder ähnliches. Spieler erhalten den kompletten Titel ohne Zeitbeschränkung. Einen kleinen Haken hat die Sache jedoch: Die Entwickler von Overkill Software geben lediglich fünf Millionen Kopien von Payday 2 heraus. Interessenten sollten sich also beeilen.

Bereits in der Vergangenheit machte das Entwicklerstudio Overkill Software ihren Titel Payday 2 vorübergehend kostenlos spielbar. Hierbei handelte es sich jedoch immer um Trial-Versionen, die mal ein Wochenende oder eine Woche lang spielbar waren. Momentan ist das Spiel jedoch komplett kostenlos und ohne zeitliche Beschränkungen auf Steam zu haben. Interessenten sollten sich jedoch beeilen, denn Overkill Software gibt lediglich fünf Millionen Kopien von Payday 2 kostenlos heraus.

Das schwedische Entwicklerstudio arbeitet derzeit an einer Ultimate Edition, die alle erschienen DLCs enthalten soll. Auch die Nintendo Switch soll eine Umsetzung erhalten. Das Studio plant Payday 2 bis Ende 2018 mit Updates und Patches zu unterstützen. Diese sind für Besitzer der Ultimate Edition komplett kostenfrei. Wer nur die Standard-Variante hat, kann gegen einen Obolus Upgraden. Dies ist vermutlich auch der Hintergrund der momentan laufenden Aktion.

Overkill Software möchte eine breite Nutzerbasis schaffen, um dann möglichst viele Spieler zu ermutigen, sich das Upgrade herunterzuladen. So könnte aus dem schon etwas älteren Titel noch einmal etwas Geld gewonnen werden. Payday 2 ist seit August 2013 für PC, Playstation 3 und Xbox 360 erhältlich. Vor einiger zeit folgte dann die Crimewave Edition für Playstation 4 und Xbox One
